Section Description

Foundations of Global Health is an intermediate level course that explores global health and global health challenges affecting people primarily in low/middle income countries. Four core topics will be examined: • What is global health, • Global inequities and the determinants of global health, • Burden and distribution of morbidity and mortality, and • Outcomes of global health interventions. Topics are examined through the lens of how global health issues and global health policy responses are shaped by global ties, tensions, and economies.

Section Expectation

This course combines lectures, activity learning, guest speaker(s) and discussion formats.

Evaluation

Grades are based on participatory engagement, discussion posts, group project, quizzes and final exam.
