Section Description
The overall objective of this course is to expand upon the clinical and theoretical aspects of exercise physiology to the evaluative and prescriptive aspects of safe and effective exercise programming. This course presents a comprehensive overview of exercise testing, evaluation, and prescription for a wide range of populations. The successful student will gain an understanding of the processes involved in prescribing safe and effective therapeutic exercise in healthy individuals as well as patients with cardiovascular, metabolic, pulmonary, and musculoskeletal diseases/disorders
Section Expectation
The student should gain a fundamental understanding of how to evaluate testing results and then prescribe safe and effective exercise programs using guidelines and recommendations from the American College of Sports Medicine.
