Section Description
Taiji Quan (Tai Chi Chuan) is an internal martial art and mind-body practice that cultivates balance, coordination, flexibility, strength and ease. Classes will include stretching and warm-ups and learning a series of Taiji Quan movements to experience flow and connection. The course will include discussion on Taiji philosophy and how to apply the principles of yin-yang balance to everyday living and within all relationships. Partner exercises in class will help you develop keen listening skills to practice this balance. Standing posture meditation or zhan zhuang will be integrated into class time with guidance around meditation offered along the way. Qigong exercises will also be shared to complement Taiji practice. We will occasionally have class time outside to feel the earth below our feet and the sky above us while we practice. Meditation, journaling, and sharing information on seasonal health practices will be integrated along the way.
