Evaluation
We use a grading system called a Labor Based Grading Contract in this class which removes grades from the classroom on an assignment basis, but still results in a final course grade. It encourages a critical and reflective space for you to engage with the course material, lower stress, accentuate equity, and emphasize learning over grading. More recently contract grading has been cited as best assessment practices for creating anti‐racist classrooms (Inoue, 2019). The contract grading system will be based on the amount of work you choose to complete for the class. If you complete an assignment you receive the points. Final Course Grades are recorded as letter grades.
