Advanced techniques of competitive kickboxing and the development of a more specific set of skills while adding elements from a variety of martial arts. Attention will be focused on development of power and movement through repetition building a proficiency in self-defense.

Section Description
Advanced Kickboxing and Self Defense is intended to take the basics that students learned in the level 1 course and hone them into a more specific set of skills while adding other techniques from a variety of martial arts. Attention will be focused on development of power and movement through repetition and a deeper understanding of individual techniques. The end goal of this class is to build proficiency in kickboxing and self-defense while improving overall conditioning. This course is recommended for those with previous experience (PEAC 074 or other previous martial arts training)
Section Expectation
This course will be broken down into two parts. The first half of every class will be Kickboxing styled conditioning with the second half of the class focused on Advanced Kickboxing / Self-Defense related technique. Boxing gloves are provided but having your own optional pair of gloves is also allowed.
Evaluation
Grades are based on attendance and participation, weekly exit cards, and a final physical and short written assessment.
