Section Description

Visual literacy has been defined as the ability to understand, interpret and evaluate visual messages. In this course, we examine how we process visual information in various environments, and how visuals are used in messaging. We’ll explore visual communication represented in illustration, photography, film, and television, multimedia and social media, and examine how social and political practices are embedded in narrative. This course includes one production of creative work in the form of a photo essay or poster design.
