Section Description
This class is designed to teach a comprehensive self-defense system using the concepts and techniques of kickboxing. Students will learn basic punches, kicks, and elbow & knee strikes along with defensive strategies. Additionally, students will work on their physical conditioning through cardio, calisthenics, and flexibility training. Objectives: 1. To learn basic striking techniques such as punches, kicks, elbow strikes and knee strikes To develop defensive tactics such as footwork, blocks and slips To learn kinetic linking principles to maximize power
Section Expectation
This course will be broken down into two parts. The first half of every class will be Kickboxing styled conditioning with the second half of the class focused on Kickboxing / Self-Defense related technique. Boxing gloves are provided but having your own optional pair of gloves is also allowed.
Evaluation
Grades are based on attendance and participation, weekly exit cards, and a final physical and short written assessment.
