Section Description
The Foundations & Functions of College Student Personnel course has been designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to the field of college student personnel and its role in higher education in the United States with an equity- and justice-centered lens. Components included in the course work towards developing and expanding a broad foundation of knowledge to which continued study, practitioner skills, and research strategies may be added. While this course intentionally covers significant breadth, focus is dedicated to building foundational practical and research-based transferrable to concurrent and future higher education and student affairs courses. Assignments will include a combination of a research, reflection, and group work.
