About COMU 1990 Z1

This innovative program exposes students to the fascinating world of modern medicine and bioscience through active learning in labs, lectures, demonstrations, and hospital visits. Students will learn in the University of Vermont College of Medicine academic facilities including the Clinical Simulation Laboratory where they will perform virtual medical procedures. Experts in genomics, cancer research, medicine, nursing, and allied health practice will engage with students on the latest advances in their fields. Students will interact with clinical and scientific faculty who train the University of Vermont medical students in the College of Medicine, known for being one of the most competitive and successful medical schools in the country. This program helps students discover their interests, learn about the latest advances in bioscience and molecular medicine, and develop an understanding of diverse medical and health science career paths that might be right for them.

Summer Academy Course; Colocated with COMU 1990 Z2 Residential High school students only; In-person on-campus from July 1 - July 14, 2024; On-line only from July 15 - July 26, 2024 from 10 am-12 pm; The first week of July 1st is MTWF from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm; The second week of July 8th is MTWR from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm; Meets in Med Ed 100 first two weeks of course the exception will be Friday, July 5th in Jeffords 125; Program Fee: $2680.00; Professional and Continuing Education Department Office permission only; Please contact 802-656-2085; Total combined enrollment = 16 Special Topics courses cannot carry CC designations.
