Section Description

Deep water aerobics (DWE) is a water-based exercise that uses equipment (e.g., flotation belt, pool dumbbells, etc.) to do a variety of aerobic, strength-building, and stretching exercises while suspended in the deep end of the pool! DWE is fun for all fitness levels and is completely non-weight bearing, which means it’s gentler on your body while remaining extremely beneficial to it - a low-impact, full body workout! This course is open to anyone who is comfortable in the deep water (with the aid of a flotation belt and adaptations for shallow water if needed). In this course we will go over all the basic moves, learning a fun routine that you can then do on your own. Sessions will focus on learning moves and expanding techniques, learning how to adjust and listen to your own body, while also having fun in the water, relieving stress, and building up endurance.

Section Expectation

Students must attend 80% of classes to receive a passing grade, therefore students must not miss more than six (6) classes. Failure to attend at least 80% of classes will result in a failing grade. Students are expected to arrive on time; three (3) late arrivals will count as one (1) absence.
