Using descriptive linguistic theory, this course examines basics of English grammar with emphasis on hands-on examples. Also includes exploration of politicization of English grammar.

Section Description

Course Description: The aim of this course is to introduce aspects of the structure of the English language, focusing on grammatical structures (syntax and morphology) rather than phonological structure. The general theme running through the course is how best to discover and describe grammatical patterns in English.
