Section Description

This course will focus on the valuation and analysis of fixed income securities. We will begin the course with an overview of the various sectors of the bond market, including the types of securities traded and the risks involved in each sector. The main focus will be on price and yield analytics including bond pricing, measurement of return, and measurement of risk. We will also study the determinants and implications of the risk and term structures of interest rates. We will apply these concepts to the valuation of actual fixed income securities, including an in-depth credit analysis on a high yield bond. Finally, we will discuss principles and techniques of risk management for a portfolio of fixed income securities.
