Section Description
Effective higher education leadership requires knowledge of organizational theory, organizational development, institutional processes, and critical organizational change. As future leaders, students in this course will discuss various aspects of higher education organization, leadership, and administration, including theoretical dimensions of the work.
Section Expectation
Coursework includes class discussion, written reflections, group activities and partner work, class facilitation, policy analysis, and reflection activities.
Evaluation
Student grades are based on successful and thoughtful completion of class discussion and in-class activities, assignments outlined on the syllabus, including: the deliberate decisions in-class debates and role playing activities; a policy analysis group project; a choose your own adventure group assignment; and a philosophy of administration reflexive essay.
