Section Description
This course is a continuation of JAPN 1100. The goal of the course is to acquire basic proficiency in all four language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) along with a solid understanding of the basic structure of the language. Chapter 6-10 of the textbook Genki I [The 3rd edition] will be covered. At the end of the course you should be able to use Japanese to: - Read and write 70 new kanji characters - Make requests, ask permission, and express prohibition - Talk about family and describe people’s appearances - Talk about vacation plans and past experiences - Quote what a person said - Give opinions - Use informal speech when appropriate - Read and write basic letters, essays, etc.
