Section Description
This course will focus on the American health care system from a sociological perspective. Students will gain an understanding of the organization and financing of the health care system as we explore such issues as who is responsible for health and illness, why do disparities in health and medical care exist between groups, how should health care services be distributed in our society, how should we understand the current health policy debates, and what can we learn from studying health care systems around the globe.
