This course surveys the history of Europe from the early Middle Ages to the wars of religion between Catholics and Protestants. Topics will include Charlemagne’s empire, the power struggles between kings and popes, the crusades, the great discoveries (science and technology, the Americas), the Renaissance and the Reformation. Concentration: Europe (HI02)
