The Finn & Roots sisters team will share the story of the Eco-Ark, a 6000sf aquaponic, hydroponic greenhouse just 35 minutes away from St. Albans. We’ll share how, what and why we grow artisan greens, herbs, cucumbers and more in a controlled environment. You will learn a bit about us, these age-old ways of growing, and providing fresh, delicious food to local markets. 

with Nathan Wiegman – Test Engineer, BETA Technologies

Come learn about the process of designing, building and testing an airplane. Nate will teach you about some of the key aspects that go into a new aircraft design – both a research & design experimental aircraft, and a fully-fledged FAA certified design. Given Nate is a test engineer there will be a large focus on the test activities going on in BETA’s St. Albans facility.

Northern Tier Center for Health (NOTCH) is a mission driven primary care practice with a focus on quality and continuity of care. We are a nonprofit corporation governed by a community-based Board of Directors whose mission is to provide high-quality care in Vermont’s Franklin and Grand Isle counties.  NOTCH’s team of compassionate and devoted healthcare professionals and support staff develop long-term relationships with patients, often serving multi-generational families. The organization offers a full spectrum of healthcare services, including family medicine, internal medicine, behavioral health, pharmacy, lab, and general dentistry.  NOTCH also operates a social grocery store in Richford.

I weave a timeline story from the beginning of Captain Georg Johannes “Ritter” von Trapp’s life; spanning his career, marriages, and children. The presentation touches on all 10 children from birth. Certain information is withheld during the lecture which will be brought to life by “The Real Maria” documentary film. The presentation and film, along with Q&A period generally runs one and a half hours.

The presentation is on the basics of cryptocurrency. We will review the origins of it, uses and markets. We will also touch on the blockchain and explain why it is so important to how cryptocurrency is traded.

Join us for a discussion with Kathy Reilly, newly elected to the Board of Governors of the Violin Society of America, as we explore how an art form rooted in tradition can endure the challenges posed by climate change.

The Battle of Cedar Creek fought in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley in October, 1864 was regarded at the time as an important battle assisting in the re-election of President Abraham Lincoln. There were more Vermont troops at this battle than any other battle in the Civil War. All Vermont Regiments played important parts in the battle. Attend & find out what Vermont soldiers did at this almost forgotten battle.
