Risqué and Revealing: Cinema of the Early 1930s
with Rick Winston, Author; Co-Founder of The Savoy Theater
Delve into the fascinating period of 1930-1934 in Hollywood, when the strictures of the Production Code were not yet enforced. Explore how films of this era dealt forthrightly with subjects that would soon become taboo, including promiscuity, divorce, prostitution, and drug addiction. View three standout films from this era: Barbara Stanwyck in Baby Face, Carole Lombard in Virtue, and Bette Davis in Three on a Match.
