Stephen Wadsworth has been a dairy veterinary practitioner for more than four decades in northern Vermont. He is a lifelong Vermonter, UVM alumnus, graduate of Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine and son of a UVM Extension veterinarian. He was a founding partner in Northwest Veterinary Associates, Inc. in St. Albans, Vermont.
Dr. Wadsworth’s interests include reproduction management, neonatal management, facility design, cattle lameness, stockmanship and animal welfare. He strongly emphasizes nurturing healthy relationships with farmers and their labor force, and he continues that focus with students while teaching at UVM. Within the CREAM program, he is deeply committed to experiential learning in animal and veterinary sciences while building a safe community based on personal character. He served on the board of directors of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners and was awarded the Quality Veterinarian of the Year. Dr. Wadsworth is the recipient of the UVM’s Kroepsch-Maurice Excellence in Teaching Award.
