Lara grew up in Philadelphia and attended James Madison University in Virginia where she received a degree in psychology. She worked as a foster care caseworker in Philadelphia before returning to school at Thomas Jefferson for her bachelor’s in nursing. She worked for 10 years as a nurse in pediatrics and obstetrics and completed her Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner master’s degree at Frontier Nursing University. She currently works as an NP in the OBGYN department at UVM Medical Center.
Lara is passionate about providing care equitably to patients of all ages. She enjoys caring for pregnant and postpartum folks and providing education around contraception and health maintenance. She has been working to gain proficiency in the menopause space after working with countless patients struggling with this transition. When she’s not working she spends time with her husband and two children, ages 8 and 11, and tries to get in a Phillies game when she can!
