Trey Dobson, MD, is an Emergency Medicine Physician with Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and serves as Chief Medical Officer & Vice President of Clinical Services for Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, Vermont. He is an Instructor of Emergency Medicine at Dartmouth Geisel School of Medicine and a past member of the Board of Trustees of Dartmouth-Hitchcock. Dr. Dobson is actively involved in improving healthcare standards, developing effective communication strategies, and fostering strong relationships. He is the past president of the Vermont Medical Society and currently sits on the Governance Council. He performs medical practice peer reviews for the Vermont Program for Quality in Health Care.
Before entering a career in medicine, Trey obtained a Master’s degree in Geology from the University of Wyoming and developed groundwater flow models using computational methods. He then earned his Medical Degree at the University of Tennessee and completed a residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Virginia. Trey’s professional interests include simplifying and standardizing medical processes to achieve high reliability and supporting work safety and satisfaction among healthcare staff. He enjoys distance running, bouldering, and activities in the mountains.
