About EDPE 3300 OL1
In-depth study of over 100 major philosophical coaching considerations. Lectures by visiting coaches. Study in areas of need and interest. Prerequisite: Junior standing. Undergraduate only.

Section Description
Students will be introduced to the field of sports coaching. The course is guided by SHAPE America standards for sports coaching and will additionally introduce students to key theories such as Long Term Athlete Development, Constraints Lead Approaches, Ecological Dynamics, Culturally Responsive Coaching, Universal Design, and Positive Youth Development. Through introduction to these standards, students will develop their philosophies as practitioners and gain key knowledge and skills to plan and execute seasons that provide development, performance, and strong environments for their players.
Section Expectation
Students will complete weekly online modules, which will include items like readings, discussions, and assignments. Students are expected to be punctual and engaged throughout the semester with all learning activities and in digital interactions with their peers.
Evaluation
Students will be graded on successful completion and quality of weekly modules as well as three major assignments.
