Section Description
This course is a supplement to: The Ethics of Climate - 16185 - PHIL 2990 and priority will be given to students enrolled in the parent course. However, the course is open to enrollment for all UVM students. This course will focus on how climate change is affecting the French Alps generally, how the ecology, the people and other organizations are adapting to and preparing for climate change. We will spend a few days at the LECA research center (https://leca.osug.fr/?lang=en) and with members of the research team learning about climate change and ecology in the Alps, and we will have guest lecturers teaching us about other issues in this region. We also spend time exploring the city of Grenoble, learning about how it is preparing for climate change and the challenges faced. We will also tour the Alps and spend a day in Lyon. For more information, see the course description here: https://goabroad.uvm.edu/index.cfm?FuseAction=Programs.ViewProgramAngular&id=11079
