Section Description
STAT 111 will prepare students to use statistics in their fields of study and in their daily lives. Concepts presented in this course will be useful to critical thinkers in an increasingly data-focused society, and the techniques covered will provide a foundation for understanding real-world research. The course introduces inference using simulation-based methods to help build students’ conceptual understanding of key statistical ideas. After laying the foundation with the simulation-based methods, the course covers traditional, parametric inference based on normal, t, and Chi-square distributions. Please note: This section of STAT 111 is specifically geared toward high school students interested in dual enrollment credit and requires instructor permission to register.
