Section Description

EDHI 6850 Teaching and Learning in Higher Education: This course is an in-depth overview of the pedagogy of teaching in higher education. Research and evidence-based practice that inform teaching will be explored. The frameworks of High Impact Educational Practices, Universal Design for Learning, as well as Backward Design will scaffold the participant’s design of a course syllabus, course learning activities, and student assessments. This course will prepare students to attend to the learning needs of diverse student populations, examine pedagogy with a critical lens, while considering instructor and student identity in pedagogical choices.

Includes design of a course syllabus, course learning activities, and student assessments.
