Section Description
Explores the development of leadership identity/capacity/efficacy in learners and the role of educators in facilitating the leadership development of others. Includes examination of research and practice in student leadership development, influence of identity on the leadership development process, and the design and facilitation of leadership development programs and interventions. Course content is applicable to anyone with interest and/or experience in: designing and facilitating leadership development programs, training, and related experiences; advising “student leader” populations, or otherwise responsible for helping others to increase their personal and/or community capacity for engaging in the leadership process.
Section Expectation
Coursework includes class discussion, written reflections, online discussion boards, partner/group work, and a program design project. Course includes a blend of synchronous class time and asynchronous online work. The course will include live class sessions some weeks, but not every week. Schedule details will be included on the syllabus. Contact instructor with questions.
Evaluation
Grades are based on written reflections, class project, online and live discussion, and any partner/group work and activities.
