About HLTH 2530 B

Preparation to become an Emergency Medical Technician. Covers all of the objectives of the National EMS Blueprint for Education. Students must successfully complete all requirements prior to sitting for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) exam. Prerequisites: Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS CPR). Co-requisite: HLTH 2531. Pre/Co-requisite: HLTH 1030.

Section Description

HLTH 2530 is the lecture and lab requirement to prepare you to become an Emergency Medical Technician. The course covers all the objectives of the National EMS Blueprint for Education. Students must successfully complete all requirements prior to sitting for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians certification exam.

Section Expectation

HLTH 2531 is a corequisite is required for this course. Both HLTH 2530 & HLTH 2531 must be taken in the same semester. A BLS card that includes a proctored skills component is also required for this class. Attendance in both lectures (weekly remote synchronous) and lab (see comments for scheduled weekends) are required for this course. Per certification and licensing guidelines, no more than eight hours of absence are allowed from the course. This course meets weekly for online lecture on Wednesdays from 1700-2000 (5 to 8 p.m.). This course meets in-person for additional projects and skills labs on the following dates: Friday 1700-2000 1/24, 1/31, 2/21, 2/28, 3/21, 4/4, 4/25 Saturday 0900-1600 1/25, 2/1, 2/22, 3/1, 4/5 Sunday 0800-1600 3/23 AND 4/27
