Section Description
This class will examine sport as a social institution, emphasizing interrelationships between sport and the social context in which it exists; analyzes functions and dysfunctions of sport in contemporary society. We discuss the following topics : History of Sport, Youth Sports, Gender Equity in Sports, Race and Sports, College Athletics and Professional Sports
Section Expectation
This an an asynchronous class. All work must be completed and turned in by the end of the course
Evaluation
30% Class assignments 30 % 3 papers 15 % Class participation 25% Final paper
