Section Description
This course explores algebra by problem solving as well as recognizing and generalizing patterns. We will represent these patterns algebraically with functions, graphically, numerically, and in words. We will investigate linear, quadratic, polynomial, and exponential functions throughout the course.
Section Expectation
Attendance will be taken daily. More than two unexcused absences may result in a lower grade. Students are expected to work in pairs or in small groups frequently in the class. In addition, students are expected to present their solutions to problem solving pieces with the class regularly. Students should expect to spend 6-8 hours a week on coursework outside of class.
Evaluation
There will be two midterm exams and a final exam. In addition, there will be some combination of graded homework assignments, projects, and/or quizzes.
