About MUL 1111 A

Group lessons at the beginning level in piano. May not be counted toward the Music major or minor, except for students concentrating in Music Technology and Business. May be taken a total of four times for credit.

Section Description

This course is designed as an elective course for any student desiring to learn to play piano. Beginning Group Piano will cover basic piano technique, scales, chords, rhythm, sight reading, repertory, and harmonization. This course is a requirement for some music majors, so priority in registration is given to majors.

Section Expectation

Typical assignments involve preparing one to two pieces and/or technical exercises (such as scales).

Evaluation

Final grades are calculated based on the following criteria and percentages; 25% attendance, 55% assignments, 20% midterm and final exams.
