About EE 1100 A
Hands-on introduction to contemporary electrical engineering principles and practice. Basic analog and digital circuit design, construction, operation, measurement. Interfacing sensors and actuators to a microcontroller, programming to interact with the world. Individual and team-based assignments that develop data dexterity and technical communication skills. Exposure to breadth of discipline and ethics in the profession. Design project. Prerequisite: First-Year students only.

Section Description
This course aims to give you a clearer idea of what Electrical and Computer Engineering is as well as help you explore possible careers within the field. We will have guest speakers, learn about the research going on in the EBE department and work on design projects related to renewable energy and sustainability. Additionally, the lab component provides you a hands-on introduction to contemporary electrical engineering principles/practice. This includes basic analog and digital circuit design, construction, operation, measurement; interfacing sensors and actuators to a microcontroller, programming to interact with the world; a group final design project.
Section Expectation
2 credit courses: 6-8 hours of work a week
Evaluation
A mix of reflections and lab activities. Final project.
