Section Description
Starting with evolution and domestication and progressing to current breeds, colors, uses, health, and management of horses, students gain a basic understanding of one of our most beloved domestic animals. No prior horse experience or knowledge is required.
Section Expectation
Course Objectives: 1. Establish timeline for horse evolution and domestication over past 60 million years. 2. Understand different uses of horses throughout history including present day. 3. Distinguish different breeds, colors and riding disciplines. 4. Gain a basic understanding of horse anatomy, physiology and disease. 5. Recognize horse care options, as well as good management practices and career opportunities. 6. Instill an appreciation for the horse-human bond.
Evaluation
Grading for ASCI 1400: Modules End of Module Quizzes each worth 4% of grade Twenty-one modules at 4% each 84% of grade Assignments Weekly Yellowdig posts 16% of grade TOTAL 100%
