Baccalaureate Benefits

Healthcare is becoming increasingly complex, the role of registered nurses continues to expand, and necessity for more highly educated registered nurses with it. The Institute of Medicine and the Vermont Blue Ribbon Commission have a goal for 80% of registered nurses to have a baccalaureate or higher degree by the year 2020.  As part of this nationwide trend, employers are increasingly encouraging registered nurses to pursue higher levels of education.
