What is webstreaming?
If you prefer to attend the conference sessions from the comfort of your home institution, the Legal Issues in Higher Education Conference can be viewed via a low cost webstream option, the webstream will be a live video (with audio) stream of the conference. Price is per computer and if you choose to project the conference sessions at your home institution, you may have many people attend.
Can I receive CLE credit for webstreaming the conference?
There is NO CLE credit available for the webstreaming option.
How does webstreaming work?
Each purchased instance of the webconference provides access to one session or room at one time. In order to watch multiple sessions simultaneously, a person would have to purchase multiple instances. At most we will have 3 sessions running at any given time. After the conference all the content will be available to the webconference attendees. If multiple people from an institution want to view multiple tracks simultaneous they will need to purchase multiple instances. If multiple people want to watch the same session they only need to purchase one instance.The rooms we use will each have a camera set up and an online facilitator.
When can I expect to receive instructions on how to webstream the conference?
You will be sent instructions on how to webstream the conference 2-4 business days prior to the start of the conference.
What does my registration fee include?
Online reference materials and online access to conference videos. Breakfast and lunch the first two days, and breakfast on the final day. Your choice of Concurrent Workshops.
Special Group Registration Rate is for?
Register 3 or more individuals together from your institution. To take advantage of this opportunity, you must register at the same time with a single payment.
Group Rate $719 per person (3 or more from same institution; one payment, one registration)
If you cannot attend, you may send a substitute without penalty. Refunds, less a $50 cancellation fee, will be made only if notice is received by September 30, 2019. Sponsors/Exhibitors fess are non-refundable
Presenting at the Conference
I want to present at the Conference, how can I submit my presentation for review?
If you wish to present at the Conference you may submit your presentation topic and description for review by the Legal Issues Conference Management Team.
Continuing Legal Credits (CLEs)
The 2018 Legal Issues Conference has been approved by the Vermont Board of Bar Overseers for 14.5 hours general credit and 0 hours ethics credits of continuing legal education (CLE). This is based on a 60 minute hour. Attorneys should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Please note that UVM applies for CLE credit in the state of Vermont ONLY for the live conference (not webstreaming). UVM does not pay the application fee for CLE applications in states other than Vermont. UVM makes no guarantee that your state will issue CLE credits for the conference. For information regarding CLE’s in other states, please check with your state bar.
Under New York’s Approved Jurisdiction policy, so long as certain requirements are satisfied, New York attorneys may count towards their New York CLE requirement credit earned through participation in out-of-state courses accredited by a New York Approved Jurisdiction. Parking and Shuttle Information
Shuttle buses will be provided from the Hilton Burlington, Courtyard Marriott/Hotel Vermont and the Hilton Garden Inn to the Davis Center each of the conference. The shuttles will operate from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m on Monday, 7:00 a.m – 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday and 7:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday and will run every 30 minutes. Please note: Our preferred Taxi provider for the Legal Issues Conference is Green Cab, ph: (802) 864-2424. During peak conference arrival and departure times or for participants staying at a different hotel, we encourage you to utilize Green Cab as an alternative to the Shuttle.
