Notes

Prepare to Engage: Accreditation in Higher Ed sequence

Section Description

This section will explore the history of accreditation in higher education. We'll start with the establishment of the peer review process, continue through regional accreditor commissions, discuss the impact of the 2020 law that eliminated the distinction between national and regional accreditors, and end with speculating on what the coming years will bring to accreditation.

Section Expectation

The majority of the course will be delivered asynchronously through posted lectures. At least one "check-in" is required which can be completed in-person if possible, otherwise it'll be completed via Teams. Additional check-ins can be scheduled according to the needs of the student to assist with the completion of the course. Students will complete a mutually agreed upon project based upon their work/career goals. Students enrolled in multiple sections of EDHI 6990 can combine check-ins and their project across sections.
