Section Description

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to sociology, the scientific study of social structures, institutions, and processes that shape human behavior and interaction. Through a critical lens, we will explore the foundational theories and methodologies employed by sociologists to understand the dynamics of social life. Emphasis will be given to exploring the concepts of inequality, social movements, race and ethnicity, gender, family, crime, and environmental sociology. The course is structured around three core modules: 1) Sociological imagination, 2) Social division and inequality, and 3) Societal institutions. We will delve into these topics in-depth through eighteen chapters of the required textbook specified below.

Section Expectation
