Stresses fluency of expressive and receptive skills for conversational competence. Introduces increasingly complex grammatical aspects. In-depth study of Deaf Culture. Prerequisites: ASL 002 or CMSI 002 or equivalent.

Section Expectation

Method of Instruction: This course will be predominantly conducted in ASL. English (written) will be used at times to clarify linguistic concepts. Class activities may include but are not limited to class discussions, practice conversations, collaborative activities, viewing video texts in ASL, and translation exercises.

Evaluation

Interpretative Assignments (Your ability to understand ASL) - 10% Presentative Assignments (Your ability to express information in ASL) - 30% Quizzes: 10% Unit Tests (3 in total) - 45% Lab: 5%
