About MATH 183 OL1

Students will be introduced to the basic ideas and algebraic structures of interest theory, time-value of money, annuities, loans, bonds, cash-flows and portfolios. Prerequisites: MATH 020, MATH 022 or MATH 023.

Section Expectation

This course is an ONLINE ASYNCHRONOUS course and does not have any meeting pattern. I will be available to meet with students via Microsoft TEAMS. You should expect to set aside about 10-12 hours per week for the course materials. This includes watching the video lectures, working on assignments/tests, and meeting with me. I do not require any meetings, but I will always be willing to meet with you to help.


There are 10 assignments and 2 tests. The grade in the class will be based on the following: 30% on Assignment Average, 35% on Test 1, 35% on Test 2
