About MATH 021 B

Introduction to calculus of functions of one variable including: limits, continuity, techniques and applications of differentiation and integration. Prerequisites: MATH 010. Credit not given for more than one course in the pair MATH 019, MATH 021 unless followed by MATH 022 or MATH 023.

Section Description

MATH 21 covers derivatives and integrals of algebraic, trigonometric, and exponential functions. Applications are used extensively throughout the course. Upon successful completion of this course, students will head to Calculus II, (MATH 22).

Section Expectation

I expect you to attend and actively participate in class. I expect you to ask questions about the homework and about my presentation of material. I expect you to answer questions posed in class. I expect you to do all homework and submit all assigned work. I expect you to seek help when you need it, either during my office hours or by scheduling a one-on-one session with me.

Evaluation

Quiz average, (two grades dropped): 50% Test average: 30% Final examination: 20%
