Section Description: This course provides an introduction to gender, race, class, and ethnicity with emphasis on food, population, economic, and ecological issues in , food systems. The geographical focus emphasizes the United States and this course satisfies a D1 requirement. This is a remote/hybrid course that meets remotely and synchronously on Tuesdays. Students interact with on-line material on Thursdays. Assessments include 6 assignments (60%) and blackboard quizzes (30%).
Section Expectations: What does remote/hybrid mean? The hybrid portion of class IS NOT assignments. Assignments are homework. Hybrid means learning and interacting with material on your own. There are many links in each module we will cover that we cannot possibly cover in class. The hybrid portion of the class involves students interacting with the material in blackboard that goes deeper than our introduction of the material in class.
Evaluation: Assessments include 6 assignments (60%) and blackboard quizzes (30%).
