In this course, SARS-CoV-2 detection methods for environmental samples, quantitative microbial risk assessment paradigms, hazard identification, exposure assessment, predictive microbiology, conducting the dose-response assessment, and uncertainty applied to wastewater surveillance for population-wide Covid-19. The goal is to provide a theoretical understanding of various methodologies and its application to mass monitoring of Covid-19 or other pathogens in the environment. Students will learn about the new and innovative approaches to identify the spread of COVID-19. Students will apply the concepts learned in this class to case studies related to wastewater-based covid-19 surveillance.
