Notes
Winter Session Course; Course dates: Jan 4 - Jan 29, 2021; Open to Degree and CDE students
Section Description
In CDAE 095 #Adulting: Finding your way to self-care, we will take a deep dive into Emotional Intelligence and the key competencies: Self Awareness, Self Management and Motivation, Social Awareness, and Relationship Management. Students will build personal emotional intelligence by learning about resilience and developing self-care strategies. I decided to teach this class this semester as there seemed a need for it. We are in challenging times. It's easy to get caught behind a computer screen, going from class to class and online social meet ups without considering our personal well-being. I hope this class will help students learn new strategies and have new tools they can source when they need them.
Section Expectation
Students can expect to spend about 8 hours per week on readings, reviewing lectures, supplemental materials and coursework.
Evaluation
The course is designed with you at the center. Personal reflection through the completion of journals and a final project are the key grading components.
