The application of graphic design principles to practical problems, including the impact of popular design on society, and the exploration of visual elements in contemporary printing processes. Prerequisites: ARTS 001 or ARTS 012.

Section Description

This course covers graphic design and graphic arts in print and Web media. Students will acquire skills in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. We will learn to print to varieties of paper and materials and create interactive pieces.

Section Expectation

Students taking the course from home will need to purchase Adobe Creative Suite. For students taking the class in person you will have access to a new computer lab that has all the software we need for the course.

Evaluation

Evaluation is based on design projects, discussion participation, skill development, risk-taking, attendance.
