Section Description

This course pairs selected episodes of The Walking Dead, a post-apocalyptic television series, with recent and current global events such as natural disasters and climate change to identify salient issues of social work practice (i.e. community building, humanity, social justice, and social difference.) This online course will create an opportunity to engage in the long standing social work discourse that engages social-justice, social difference, the strength and power of community, and the challenges faced by oppressed communities in the context of threats to global social/economic/ecological wellbeing. There are no prerequisites for this course. However, an interest in human rights and social justice are important. This social work course is designed for undergraduate students in any major.
