On-site supervised work experience combined with a structured academic learning plan directed by a faculty member or a faculty-staff team in which a faculty member is the instructor of record, for which academic credit is awarded. Offered at department discretion. Prerequisites: HDFS 161, HDFS 189; Senior standing; Instructor permission.
Dates: May 20 - August 9, 2019; Course is required for HDFS majors and is taught in the the summer as an independent study to keep students on track for graduation.
This course is an Independent Study version of the required capstone course for HDFS majors in their senior year and is offered, by permission only, to HDFS majors, as an independent study in the summer. All requirements and information about the course are conveyed to HDFS majors, and specifics are worked out between instructor and each individual student for the summer version of the course.
