On-site supervised work experience combined with a structured academic learning plan directed by a faculty member or a faculty-staff team in which a faculty member is the instructor of record, for which academic credit is awarded. Offered at department discretion. Prerequisite: Instructor permission. Total credits towards graduation cannot exceed 15 hours.

Students earn credit for hands-on experience on or off campus. Criteria for receiving credit are 1) it has to be a new learning experience (credit cannot be given for past experiences), and 2) it has to be animal-related in some way.
Students are required to submit progress reports, a journal, a newsletter article, and a reflection paper. Other submission requirements will vary, depending on where the internship is located and/or what responsibilities the intern has.
This is an S/U course and isn't included in your GPA calculation.
