Summer Medical Courses

Summer medical courses at the University of Vermont College of Medicine are offered from June 3 to Aug. 21, 2009. They provide students with an ideal opportunity to advance in - or catch up on - their medical training.

The Summer Medical Program for 2009 includes these courses:

  • Human Gross Anatomy (ANNB 201/60049)
    5 credits
    July 13 to Aug. 21, 2009
    Monday-Friday, 9am to 10am and Tuesday/Thursday, 1pm to 2pm
    ANNB 201 Lab: Monday - Friday, 10am to 12pm and Tuesday/Thursday, 2pm to 4pm
  • Medical Gross Anatomy (ANNB 301/60106)
    8 credits
    June 15 to July 25, 2009, Monday - Friday, 9am to 12pm and 1pm to 5pm
  • Medical Pharmacology (PHRM 301/60064)
    6 credits
    June 3 to July 1, 2009, Monday - Friday, 9am to 12pm and 1pm to 3pm
  • Medical Physiology (MPBP 306/60853)
    8 credits
    June 15 to July 20, 2009, Monday - Friday, 9am to 12pm and 1pm to 3pm, Saturday, 9am to 10am

Faculty Bios

Gary Mawe, Ph.D,
Professor, Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology

Education: Ph.D., Ohio State University, 1984; postdoctoral training, Columbia University

Research interests: Neural regulation of gastrointestinal function; studies of the modulation of ganglionic and smooth muscle activity by neural, hormonal, and immune-mediated inputs; pharmaco-electrophysiological (intracellular and patch clamp recording) and immunohistochemical approaches.
