Dear Parents:
Are you wondering how your student can parlay a college education into employment or entrepreneurial ventures following graduation?
The University of Vermont offers an innovative program to assist non-business majors in preparing for potential careers in business. In two weeks, students will develop the skills and knowledge necessary to make a real difference in their career pursuits.
Business Savvy specifically addresses the needs of prospective and recent graduates seeking to succeed in a tight, competitive job market.
The program is designed to provide an understanding of fundamental business principles. It will focus on five disciplines: management, marketing, finance, accounting and economics. Through case studies and a week-long business simulation, students will acquire, integrate and apply their knowledge in a team environment. Participants also will engage in a series of experiences to sharpen their career search and development skills.
Interest in Business Savvy is anticipated to be strong. Therefore, students are encouraged to apply early.
Business Savvy is an intensive, 6-credit course. The tuition and program fee cover all class materials, two meals per day and professional development activities.
Interested participants are welcome to discuss the program with us by phone (800) 639-3210 or (802) 656-2085 or by email.
