World Music - Gamelan

The field of Physical Theater ranges from the classic foolery of opera and Shakespeare, to the wacky, tattooed buskers in the streets of New York and Paris, to the subtle movements one might find in Pinter, Beckett or Moliere. What all of these styles have in common is awareness of the body as an instrument of expression and communication, a keen sense of comic timing, physical agility, and commitment to the idea of "playing."
You'll study movement, clowning, physical techniques and character development in a supportive and experimental atmosphere with two great teachers.

Two sessions:

Eccentric Performing

This workshop will be an introduction to the concepts and skills of eccentric performing:  entrances, establishing rapport with the audience, complicity with partners and with the audience, and problem solving.  Work with Master teacher Avner Eisenberg to explore your inner clown.
