ONLINE COURSE ADVISINGOur online courses are asynchronous, which allows you a great deal of flexibility. You can study at any time or any place at your convenience. You will, however, have to log onto the course at a designated time for quizzes, exams or course projects. Online students are expected to spend approximately 9-12 hours a week per online course, a 3-credit course, to be able to complete the course successfully. During the summer, the courses are much compressed and therefore you should expect to spend more hours per course. Even though the courses are available 24/7, we recommend that you make a schedule, setting aside times in your calendar to work on your online course. We encourage you to log on daily until you find the right pace for you. Keep in mind that if the course is short, you will find yourself working on it every day. In taking an online course, we can not emphasize enough the importance of organizing your time and learning materials. Your course syllabus will include information on how your instructor will interact with you. (For example, how quickly he/she will respond to your email messages.) The syllabus will also outline what kind of virtual classroom you will be in along with your fellow students. Contact an Advisor
